Our vision

The Australia Centre for Value-Based Health Care was established by the Australian Healthcare and Hospital Association (ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø) contributing to its vision for the best possible healthcare system that supports a healthy Australia.

Our purpose

To advance value-based health care in Australia.

Our objectives

In collaboration with our partners the Centre aims to:

How we work

We recognised that value is not created solely within the public health system. People navigate their health and wellbeing by continually moving between public and private settings and by accessing support both within and outside the health sector.ÌýÌý

As such the Australian Centre for Value-Based Health Care strives to provide a mechanism to bring everyone together – public services, private services, consumers and communities, system stewards, governments, technology, insurers, the breadth of the health workforce, policy-makers, data and performance information and sectors beyond health care – to work together to pursue our collective goal of driving value and improvements in outcomes, sustainably and equitably.Ìý

The advancement of VBHC in Australia

Value-based health care originated as a grassroots movement in Australia, emerging in response to health care leaders and professionals seeking solutions to address the growing sustainability issues undermining the system.
